Someone stop this monster, he's out of control.

Nah, in all seriousness, this is one of three test strips I've been working on for a little. Not for very long, I did all three strips in one day or so. I just finished this one today, 'cause it was the least complicated one to do. It's based on a project I've been working on. Most of the reason I wanted to do this and the other two I'll be doing is for style testing. My drawing roots are in manga, so whenever I imagine characters emoting, I imagine them using the emotions of manga characters, especially like those of my favorite manga artist of all time, Akira Toriyama. What I wanted to test my hand at was the emoting style of American comics. I think having those skills would be very useful for making the kinds of comics I want to make. Oddly enough, I think he went from "American webcomic face" in the first panel to "manga creep face" in the second panel... I mainly did this simpler one to test speech bubbles, black gutters, and the aforementioned emoting.

Billy Petar himself is the youngest in a militia with control of purple moonstone. He isn't officially part of the militia as he's only there because of his adoptive mother "Boss Lady," who he lives with. However, he has an unusual talent for tinkering with vehicles of all kinds, and many in said militia have benefited from his abilities. Unlike many of the other children around him, the highly disciplined and fiercely loyal Billy Petar doesn't usually get in the way of the adults. He does, though, get into trouble and lead other kids into less than savory situations. He has a penchant for cunning, a trait intensified by his overconfidence. The purple moonstone is said to drive anyone exposed to it for an extended period of time completely insane. Fortunately, Billy Petar hasn't been affected. Probably, anyway.

For some reason, I imagine his voice sounding like a mix of Kid Goku and Paul Lynde.
